Functional Behavior Assessment

Our Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) gives you clear answers about why challenging behaviors are happening and what to do next. We use systematic behavioral data collection in your child's everyday environments, observing when behaviors start, how they unfold, and how others respond.

A key part of this process is Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence (ABC) analysis, where we carefully examine what occurs before, during, and after behavior to identify patterns and triggers that might otherwise be missed. This allows us to differentiate between behaviors driven by escape, attention, access to items, or sensory needs.

Using this data, we develop a targeted behavior intervention plan that you, your child's school, and other providers can realistically implement. The plan focuses on teaching safer, more functional replacement behaviors and adjusting the environment to prevent escalation. You receive clear, written recommendations and coaching, so the path forward feels structured, hopeful, and achievable.
